Polaroid pushes polarising lens as it relaunches in UK

Polarised lens manufacturer, Polaroid is relaunching in the UK. The company is concentrating on introducing its new prescription polarising lens to the UK, developing its portfolio and marketing the benefits of polarised lenses to the UK public.

The company's new Polaroid RX lens is being particularly marketed to drivers, as it offers a dramatic reduction of glare. The polarising film is imbedded into the lens in such a way that separation is virtually impossible, says the company. Polaroid is therefore offering a lifetime warranty against delamination. The technology also allows for a finished lens with a centre thickness of 1.8mm and a fitting height of 20mm to allow the lens to be glazed into today's fashion-led small sized frames. The lenses are available in grey and brown and come in single-vision, progressive and flat-top 28 bifocal lenses. The single-vision base curves are 2.25, 4.25, 6.25 and 8.25. Base curves for progressives are 2.5, 4.5, 6.5, 8.5, add 1.00 - 3.00 in 0.25 D steps. Flat top 28 base curves are 2.25, 4.25, 6.25, 8.25, add 0.75 - 4.00 in 0.25 D steps. All prescription lenses absorb 85 per cent of visible light and 100 per cent of UV light. The company's core business remains in polarised lenses and its own sunglass ranges - flagship brand [X]oor, Polaroid, Furore, Sports, Kids and Prescription. All its frames are handmade in Italy. - For further information on Polaroid, contact 01582 632000
