Practice Plus Group announced it was now offering high-tech vitreoretinal eye surgery at its ophthalmology clinic at Croft Shifa, Rochdale.
The group’s mobile clinic patients in Stockport, Tameside and Bury were also able to be referred and access free transportation for the surgical procedure.
Caroline McHugh, service director ophthalmology, Practice Plus Group, said: ‘Ultimately, we want our patients to be able to access the latest surgeries available so they can get back to their best sooner and enjoy their favourite activities again.’
Wait times for this surgery were said to be considerably short, with Practice Plus Group patients able to access the treatment in as little as two to four weeks.
Looking ahead, the group has aimed to expand its service in this field to its other hospitals and surgery clinics throughout England.
