Hospital and community optometrists and heads of optometry are being urged to attend the Vision UK 2011 conference to engage with 'the whole of the eye health and sight loss sector'.
Taking place on June 16 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster, the day will focus on 'the changing external environment', the Big Society, commissioning changes and recent advances in technology.
Delegates will have the chance to share and learn from examples of good practice and innovation as well as debate wider social and economic issues around sight services.
Speakers will include BBC political correspondent Gary O'Donoghue and the Department of Health's David Behan. Other key speakers will include Lord Howe, parliamentary under secretary of state for quality (with responsibility for eye care) and Michael Sobanja, chief executive of the NHS Alliance.
