Professionals, optical bodies and companies were all urged last week to support Optrafair 2011 which was described by organisers as the one true trade show for UK optics.

The launch of Optrafair 2011, which will take place around the weekend of April 10 at the National Exhibition Centre in the Midlands, was brought forward to enable the best possible preparations to be made, said the FMO's chairman Barry Dibble, and for the right packages to be put together to attract the whole of optics.

Malcolm Polley, FMO chief executive, said eye care professionals needed to attend events such as Optrafair to keep abreast of the latest developments. 'The profession has a duty to attend the show to see the technology that is out there and the products available and the technological advances in lenses.'
