Professor Thomson steps away from City

Professor David Thomson has decided to step away from his current role of professor of optometry and visual science at City University, London.

He first joined the university as an undergraduate in 1977 before undertaking a pre-registration year with Ronald Rabbetts in Portsmouth. Thomson completed his studies on 'Eye problems associated with computers' and was awarded a PhD in 1985. Having lectured for 25 years, Thomson was awarded a chair at City in 2003, and went on to become head of department before taking up the role of associate dean within the School of Community and Health Sciences.
