The charity which helped congenital glaucoma sufferer Raja A'Karim Bader (pictured) has made an urgent appeal for help in transporting spectacles for disadvantaged children in Jerusalem. The infant Ð who lives in a Gaza refugee camp Ð was fortunate enough to have free surgery at St John's Eye Hospital. Her parents' £10-a-week income barely covers their food needs, and they now have Christian charity BibleLands to thank for her spectacles. Hundreds of frames have been donated at Boots, Specsavers and elsewhere, but BibleLands director Nigel Edward-Few said the effort to help needy children with their sight was 'a real logistical problem'. Any reader who can help, or knows of spare transportation to Israel, should call the charity on 01494 897950. Last year, BibleLands gave grants of £18,000 to Jerusalem's St John's Eye Hospital to help 100 children with their vision.
