Replay unveils second half events calendar

CET provider Replay Learning revealed a comprehensive course calendar for the second half of the year at Optrafair this month.

CET provider Replay Learning revealed a comprehensive course calendar for the second half of the year at Optrafair this month.

As well as three clinical conferences at different venues in the autumn, the company announced it will focus its other learning courses on glaucoma, contact lenses for presbyopia and therapeutics in 15 events announced at the NEC show.

Optometrist Peter Charlesworth, Replay's director, told optician the new courses would focus on topical subject areas for the profession.

Replay will host three courses for 'Clinical skills for the modern optometric practice' in June at London's Imperial Hotel (20th), Warrington's Hanover International Hotel (21st), and Nottingham's Yew Lodge Hotel in Kegworth (22nd). The course will update optometric diagnostic and investigative skills using the latest techniques and technology.

For practitioners interested in glaucoma, three events on 'Getting to grips with glaucoma' will take place in September, at Leicester's Belmont Hotel (5th), Bristol's Corus Hotel (6th) and Newcastle's Menzies Silverlink Hotel (7th). The course is billed 'to improve optometrists' recognition, diagnosis and management of glaucoma'.

Other courses planned for later in the year are 'Success with contact lenses for presbyopia' in November and 'The practical approach to therapeutics' in December.

Each Replay course is worth seven CET credits, apart from the clinical conferences, which are worth between eight and 10 credits in total.
In addition, this month the CET provider has made two new appointments.

Jenny Claridge has joined from Johnson & Johnson and is Replay's new marketing manager. She was national sales manager at J&J, and previously had held a number of senior marketing roles.

Helen Drennan has joined as operations manager, and she will oversee Replay's Customer Support Team as well having a key role in ensuring the delivery of Replay's CET products and services.

Charlesworth said: 'Both Jenny and Helen bring a wealth of experience to their respective roles. I am confident of the immediate benefits that our customers will see in the way in which we communicate with them and serve them.'
