Report reveals buying habits across Europe

Delegates at last week's European Sunglass Association conference in Portugal were presented with the first set of European market data findings since the Association merged with the Vision Council at the start of the year.

The research, which echoes the Vision Watch survey by the VC in the US, monitors optical goods in the business to business sector and gauges consumer attitudes and activity.

Since January, 5,000 consumers each month have contributed to the findings and the survey is continuous with a second report expected later in the summer. The survey is seen as one of the main benefits of the merger and should provide market intelligence on a global basis for the eyewear industry.
