The Cooper Companies has reported revenue up 1 per cent for the third quarter ended July 31, against the same period in 2005.
Cooper's chairman A Thomas Bender said he was pleased with progress, adding that a limited roll-out of Biofinity silicone hydrogel lenses in the US was receiving positive feedback from clinicians, 'matching what we have been hearing in Europe in the past few quarters'.
Sales of single-use lenses in Japan and Europe were improving, with new blister packaging.
By the end of 2007 he expected $15m annualised savings from staff reductions, sales and marketing efficiencies and the consolidation of distribution centres in Europe and the US. The initial operation of the Liege, Belgium and Delta Park, UK, distribution facilities was expected in the fourth quarter.
