
Safilo CEO Angelo Trocchia has lauded the performance of the eyewear company in its 2020 financial results announcement after what he called ‘the most challenging market conditions we have ever experienced’.
Net sales were down to €780.3m for 2020 compared to €939m in 2019, although the second half of 2020 saw €444.7m of net sales compared to €443.1m in the same period last year.
Trocchia explained that the second half of the year saw Safilo experience a ‘solid sales recovery’ and that ‘the business environment at the beginning of the 2021 remained affected by the containment actions still in place’ to limit Covid-19 transmission.
