Sauflon has expanded its third-generation silicone hydrogel contact lens family with the introduction of Clariti Toric.
Building on the success of the company's Clariti monthly and Clariti 1day lenses, Sauflon said Clariti Toric was positioned as the first choice upgrade for patients wearing hydrogel toric lenses. The low modulus, high water content and wettability of Clariti Toric would ensure that patients could be easily upgraded from old technology hydrogel toric lenses into a healthier silicone hydrogel lens. It added that this would allow for longer and more comfortable contact lens wear.
Clariti Toric comes in powers of +6.00 to -9.00, with four cylinder options -0.75, -1.25, -1.75 and -2.25, and axis from 10° to 180° in 10° steps.
'The exceptional wettability of Clariti Toric is achieved through its patented AquaGen technology, which does not require the use of surface treatments or wetting agents. Clariti Toric has a low modulus of 0.50Mpa and high water content of 58 per cent which, with its exceptional wettability, combines to provide outstanding levels of comfort throughout the day,' said Sauflon.
The company added that, in keeping with its 25-year pledge, Clariti Toric would be exclusively available to eye care professionals, ensuring business generated by the practitioner returned to the practitioner. Clariti Toric comes in all minus powers and with cylinders -0.75, -1.25 and -1.75 across all axes. Diagnostics are available through local business development managers or Sauflon customer care.
