Optometry Scotland (OS) is to host a Scottish Optical Conference in conjunction with the Scottish Committee of Optometrists (SCO).

The programme for the event, to be held at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow, on December 2 2007, is still to be announced, but the optical body said it was likely to include both political and clinical matters as they affect the profession in Scotland. Some of the agenda items will be appropriate for CET.

An evening reception and dinner is also planned, and OS hopes that a senior member of the Scottish Executive will make a keynote address.

OS chairman, Frank Munro said: 'We have been considering holding another Scottish Optometric Conference for some time and I'm glad to be able to say that our plans are now firming up for what promises to be a thoroughly interesting and professionally stimulating event for everyone involved with the profession.'
