James Anthony of Scotlens presented the software, which allows practitioners to design rigid and soft contact lenses at the touch of a button. He reported good feedback, with interest from practitioners who previously considered gas permeables too difficult to fit.
The software is supplied at no cost by Scotlens and comprises an electronic order pad and a quick design and order section where only the Ks and prescription are required for spherical, toric or bi-toric lens design. A full-design version allows the user to go further into lens design and fitting.
Lenses can be also be designed and ordered online at www.scotlens.com.
