Awareness of eye health risk factors such as UV and taking certain medications remains extremely low according to Transition Optical's second annual Global Healthy Sight Survey.
Announced at a press conference on May 9 at Mido in Milan, the results showed only marginal improvement over responses in the 2007 survey.
'Sadly the research is showing we haven't been communicating the message of preventative eye care loudly enough,' said Bette Zaret, senior vice president of global marketing at Transitions.
The survey interviewed more than 12,000 individuals from the USA, UK, Australia, France, Italy and China, and monitored shifts in awareness related to eye health risk factors such as ultraviolet radiation (UVR).
