The vast majority of people around the world are unaware of important risks to their healthy sight, according to the findings of a global survey undertaken by Transitions Optical.
The findings of one of the biggest studies on the subject to date were unveiled during a press briefing held during the Mido exhibition which took place in Milan from May 4-7.
According to the report authors, the survey revealed a 'consistent' lack of awareness of UV and other risks to healthy sight and 'convincingly' highlighted a need for education on preventive eye health.
The comprehensive global survey was conducted with more than 10,000 individuals in Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, the UK and the US and was reported with additional results from Australia and Japan.
