Customers of online contact lens retailer Vision Direct UK have helped to raise £3,000 for eye research charity, Fight for Sight.

The charity was named as the the retailer's first official charity partner and its customers were encouraged to take a #BlinkWinkThink one-eyed selfie, to help raise awareness of the importance of eye research and funds. Vision Direct pledged to donate £3 for every customer that participated in the campaign, which ran until the end of March 2015.

Catherine Woodhead, director of fundraising at Fight for Sight said: ‘Thank you to Vision Direct and all the participants who’ve supported the campaign. Losing your sight can have a devastating effect on someone’s life. By taking a quick selfie people have helped to support pioneering eye research, which will help the fight against sight loss.’
