Lens manufacturer raises money for Breast Cancer Care

Lens manufacturer Shamir UK will be taking part in Breast Cancer Awareness month during October to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

As part of the initiative, the company will change its branding across all channels from red to pink, run a sweepstake to win a TV and make a donation with every progressive lens sold. In addition, special Breast Cancer Awareness month point-of-sale materials have been created for practices looking to participate in the fundraising.

Phil Bareham, general manager of Shamir UK, said: ‘Breast Cancer Care is close to Shamir’s heart. Consequently, we want to ensure our fundraising supports the charity’s fundamental aim in fully supporting patients and getting the best treatment, support and information.’

The 41” TV sweepstake is now live on Just Giving. Simply donate £2 to guess how many lenses are in the picture – www.justgiving.com/fundraising/shamir-uk-digital-sweepstake.

Practices looking to join in with Shamir UK’s efforts should contact their area lens consultant, who will arrange an event. Supporters can also use #shamirturnspink on social media.
