Shervin Korangy appointed general manager of Alcon for the UK and Ireland

Alcon has appointed Shervin Korangy as its general manager UK and Ireland with effect from June this year.

Korangy joined Alcon's parent company, Novartis, in 2010 as the head of corporate finance and was most recently the head of Alcon's surgical business in France. In his new role he will be responsible for surgical, pharmaceuticals, retina and vision care. The former general manager, Roger Lopez, has been appointed area vice president for Alcon Asia.

Before joining Novartis Korangy was in the banking and private equity business where he worked in various industries including consumer products and healthcare.
