Shrewsbury independent changes ownership

Independent practice Shrewsbury Optometry has changed ownership, with current proprietor Gareth Hardcastle handing over the reinsto Paul Cottrell, who joined as a locum in 2018.

‘I am delighted to announce that Paul will be taking over as a new partner in the practice. Paul comes with a vast amount of clinical expertise, and I am confident he will provide a seamless transfer in care,’ said Hardcastle.

Hardcastle, who has owned the practice for 18 years, introduced a range of additional qualifications, including glaucoma, contact lenses and independent prescribing, while Cottrell also specialises in contact lenses and spent time at Birmingham Eye Hospital.
