Signet Armorlite (SA) is continuing recruitment for its Kodak Lens Vision Centre (KLVC) network, a marketing partnership through which independent practices receive rebranding and a marketing budget in return for a commitment to buy 50 per cent of their lenses from SA (News February 22, 2008).
Encouraging practices to become KLVCs , SA UK's head of marketing, Mark Ireland cited the advantages of collective strength and economies of scale in a difficult economic climate. 'In a declining, market when people are cutting back, it's a great way for practitioners to gain market share and share a voice,' he said.
The current number of KLVCs has remained static at around 150 since February 2008 when SA launched a year-long £2.2 multimedia consumer advertising campaign, falling short of the company's previous target of re-branding 250 practices by 2009.
