SpaMedica announced it was rolling out a specialist glaucoma service across its network of eye hospitals to offer NHS patients faster access to diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care.
Launching initially in Greater Manchester, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Cheshire, and Merseyside, the service would follow NICE-recommended pathways, such as Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) as a first-line treatment.
Claire Wood, clinical lead optometrist at SpaMedica said: ‘It’s vital that NHS patients are able to access care when they need it. We’re proud to be working in close partnership with the NHS and community optometrists to ensure patients receive high-quality care, as quickly as possible.’
