
Independent NHS eye care provider, SpaMedica, has partnered with the Macular Society to help fund research and support services for patients diagnosed with macular disease.
To kickstart the initiative, SpaMedica employees were aiming to raise £5,000 for the charity, with the SpaMedica board of directors pledging to match their donations, doubling the impact of their efforts.
Tom Fellows, SpaMedica’s head of policy and value proposition, was further supporting the fundraising campaign by participating in two 10k runs.
‘The Macular Society is a charity that’s close to many of our hearts, he explained. ‘SpaMedica currently treats thousands of patients with wet age-related macular degeneration, so we have seen firsthand the impact the condition can have on people’s lives, and the benefits of early intervention.’
