Staff from Black & Lizars' 21 practices last week volunteered their spare time to screen the vision of 2,500 athletes competing at the Special Olympics National Summer Games in Glasgow.
Athletes requiring spectacles or contact lenses were supplied free-of-charge to help perform to the best of their ability at the games. 'It has been a busy week for our volunteers,' said joint chief executive Peter Ivins. 'We are delighted to be able to offer our professional expertise in this way.'
