Specsavers has been granted trade mark protection for the contracted term 'Should’ve' by the UK Intellectual Property Office.
Antony Douglass, the multiple’s intellectual property counsel, lodged the application in July and said he was delighted with the approval.
‘Should’ve gone to Specsavers is synonymous with our brand and is a powerful marketing message for us', said Douglas.
‘Alongside our clinical expertise and great value, people know and love Specsavers for our Should’ve moments – and we very much look forward to continuing to deliver the Should’ve message throughout our marketing activities and across TV, online, print and social media. This was about protecting the brand and continuing to adapt it to reflect changing technology and marketing channels.’
