Specsavers has taken another step in its global expansion programme with the acquisition of 26 stores from Finland’s optical chain Eyen.

Specsavers has taken another step in its global expansion programme with the acquisition of 26 stores from Finland’s optical chain Eyen.

The move will bring Specsavers to over 20 new towns and cities in Finland as well as increasing its presence in Helsinki, Vantag and Tampere.

Just 18 months after the opening of its first store in Finland, Specsavers claimed it was close to achieving its goal of becoming the country’s market leader. As a result of the Eyen deal and with another five stores ‘in the pipeline’, Specsavers said it would have 90 stores in Finland by March next year.
