Specsavers pledge to raise £100,000 for Diabetes UK

Specsavers Opticians has pledged to raise £100,000 for the charity Diabetes UK to help the increasing number of young people with diabetes.

Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave, who has Type 2 diabetes and is honorary vice president of Diabetes UK, is pictured at the launch of the partnership this week with Specsavers co-founder Mary Perkins and Dr Mark Porter MBE.

Perkins said: ‘We have adopted Diabetes UK as our national charity because we believe that, together, we can make a big difference to the prevention of visual impairment and blindness.’
