Pancake flipping optical staff crêpe-d into Bronze position at an annual charity race in Reading last week.

Having won the title last year, the four-strong team of Jordan Casciello, Akhona Mwellie, Keira Stewart and Aaron Holloway turned up the heat again but were burnt off into third place this time around.

Specsavers Reading store director Don Watts said: ‘The annual race has become extremely competitive among retailers and the teams that enter. I am really proud that each time we have taken part we have won the title, so there was no pressure this year. It is for a great cause and helps supports the homeless charity.’
