Most children are less apprehensive about wearing spectacles than their parents were, according to new industry-sponsored research.
A survey carried out by Manchester-based frame company Brulimar Optical Group has found that eight out of 10 of today's youngsters are less bothered about having to wear spectacles than their parents when they were children. 'Cool' spectacle-wearing celebrities are one of the reasons children appear less worried nowadays. Brulimar's research found that for 100 spectacle wearers aged six to 14, footballer David Beckham was the most popular fellow wearer, followed by pop star Scary Spice and television and radio celebrity Chris Evans.
