Devastating floods in Gloucestershire and other parts of the country have caused considerable loss of business to optical practices.
While practices in worst hit areas remain shut, Optician spoke to staff at re-opened multiple and independent stores about disaster management.
Specsavers central office reported that 11 of its practices had shut while D&A said it was dealing with 'this sensitive issue internally'. Specsavers property director Hugo Lord said: 'The recent weather has caused store closures at an unprecedented level. Although it has been a strain on some third-party contractors our proactive approach has meant that most stores have maintained customer service by re-opening the same day.'
