Three optometry students are due to finish an epic 800 mile cycle from Plymouth to Glasgow today (September 7), which has seen them visit the optometry department of every UK mainland university.
Gemma Hill (left), Fares Hatoum (centre, back) and Maadhav Kothari (right) cycled for 12 days around the country and collected over £1,000 for charity Optometry Giving Sight.
On the ride, Gemma Hill said: 'I was humbled by the number of donations that came in before the cycle had even started.' The cyclists were spurred on by AOP chairman David Shannon (yellow jersey), GOC chief executive and registrar Samantha Peters (centre) and fellow student Sarah Souza at the GOC's offices on Harley Street.
