A student optometrist alleged to have undertaken unsupervised sight testing, supervision of pre-reg optometrists and the falsification of patient records during her pre-registration training has been erased from General Optical Council registers by a fitness to practise committee.
Elizabeth Pinchbeck worked as a student optometrist at Specsavers in Cannock between August 2007 and March 2009 and became eligible for full registration in 2008. The committee said Pinchbeck opted to not apply for full registration at the time and that she was already the subject of a referral regarding the falsification of records used in support of her training objectives. A second referral was subsequently made relating to sight testing and supervision allegations.
