Students explore 100% trail

The Trainee Treasure Trail at 100% Optical helped businesses and students interact

Optometry and dispensing optician students participated in a Trainee Treasure Trail at 100% Optical, enabling the next generation to engage with 10 businesses featured at the event.

Organised by Out of the Box Optics to raise funds for Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP), students were able to meet exhibitors such as Ibis Vision, Nick Boys Eyewear, Eyespace Eyewear, Grafton Optical, Specsavers, Thea, ABDO, Inspecs + Norville, Heine and Thomson Software.

When the trail was complete, students' trail cards were entered into a prize draw each day for sunglasses, optical equipment and textbooks.

Alison Gordon, VCHP community and corporate fundraiser, said: ‘This fun activity helps companies to reach a new audience and helps Vision Care for Homeless People raise awareness of the eye care needs of homeless people and engage with future volunteers.

‘The funds and awareness raised help us to address inequalities in eye care through our free eye care clinics for homeless and other vulnerable people.’
