Consultant ophthalmologist and ophthalmic surgeon Teifi James has joined the British Contact Lens Association council as a medical representative

James joins BCLA council Consultant ophthalmologist and ophthalmic surgeon Teifi James has joined the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) council as a medical representative.

James currently runs the Yorkshire Regional Uveitis and Inflammatory Eye disease service at the Royal Halifax Infirmary has lectured extensively in the UK contact lens arena on specialist subjects dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction.

On his new role, James said: ‘It’s a privilege and a pleasure to join the BCLA Council, and I’m very much looking forward to help further improve the professional profile of contact lens practice. I am particularly interested in improving the management of contact lens dry eye, and associated contact lens discomfort, and reducing dropout.’
