Thélios launches independent men’s eyewear brand

9.81 is Thélios' first independent brand

A luxury eyewear brand for men has been launched by LMVH’s eyewear company Thélios and become its first independent brand available to selected optical practices.

Focused on Italian craftsmanship and innovation, 9.81 has been created in response to the demands of metropolitan and active men with a focus on quality, functionality and design.

Giovanni Zoppas, CEO of Thélios, said: ‘‘The brand name, a reference to the universal constant of gravity (9.81 Newtons), is an homage to the raw force of nature that keeps us grounded every day, while inspiring us our most daring challenges.’

Details of the first collection of 9.81 eyewear included an exclusively patented mechanism dubbed Courbure Variable, a variable curvature of the temples that aided fitting for indoor and outdoor wear.
