Thief Ôuses mouthÕ to deactivate tags

Police and practice staff have been left baffled by a man who has stolen thousands of pounds worth of designer frames by apparently using a device in his mouth.
The bizarre incidents have led to CCTV footage of the suspect, who has raided the Kings Lynn branch of Vision Express twice in a month, being reproduced.
PC Scott Hemeter of Norfolk police said the thief got away with £1,500 worth of designer frames after the first raid in early July.
ÔDuring the second raid the man stole £3,000 worth, but was chased and dropped some of his stolen items,Õ he said.
Police are now checking the recovered spectacles for traces of DNA to see if the suspect can be identified on the national DNA data register.
PC Hemeter said police were working on the theory that the man used a magnet of some sort to deactivate the security device attached to the frames.
Martin Storey, an optometrist and director at the Norfolk-based outlet, has contacted optician to warn readers to watch out for this man.
ÔThe thief is of Far Eastern origin,Õ said Mr Storey, Ôand uses some kind of device in his mouth to deactivate the security tags on the frames before dropping them into an envelope.Õ
He said that the suspect had stolen in bulk Ð up to 30 designer frames at a time Ð and was very quick.
ÔWhen approached he cannot speak because the device is in his mouth. He is short, approximately five foot four inches tall, and is of slight build,Õ Mr Storey added.
