Employees from Sutton-in-Ashfield based Specsavers have successfully completed the Castle Ride cycle challenge and raised £1000 for the Touching Tiny Lives campaign.
The team had to cycle 100 miles in a day to raise funds for the campaign to investigate solutions for premature childbirth affecting one in 10 pregnancies in this country. The event was held in Kent and involved a circular route visiting six different castles including Tonbridge, Sissinghurst and Rochester.
The team included store director and optometrist Nigel Davidson and Jon Truepenny who is the contact lens fitter at the store. Both have children who were born prematurely. Any further donations are welcomed at www.action.org.uk/-specsavers.
