Instrument and equipment manufacturer Topcon has launched non-mydriatic retinal camera, TRC-NW400, which features fully automatic functions for alignment, focusing and capturing colour retinal images.
The manufacturer said operators no longer had to take time to align, centre, focus and capture colour retinal images, as the device carried out the tasks automatically, travelling from one eye to the other when both eyes are being photographed. All functions pertaining to the capture are performed automatically by the internal firmware of the camera.
The DICOM compliant device can be connected to a digital capture system or used as a stand-alone instrument. Images can be saved to a remote server or EMR system without the need for a computer.
