Topcon names IT project chief

Topcon's London-based senior IT engineer Hetin Patel has been promoted into a national role as UK IT project manager.

Patel, who joined Topcon in 2003, held a number of senior IT roles on a consultancy basis and in the past eight years has gained wide experience in the area of healthcare software, including optometry and ophthalmology.

Topcon said the newly created role was to increase its SW interface with the NHS that will see him take charge of a number of new projects the company will launch in the coming months.

Patel explained: 'With the growing importance of efficient and paperless services, especially in the public sector, it is now more important than ever to develop IT systems to assist our customers to do just that - work smarter.'
