The Eyecare Trust has published a three-year business plan which outlines how it will put eye care higher up the public health agenda and increase the number of visits to optical practices.

eyetestThe Eyecare Trust has published a three-year business plan which outlines how it will put eye care higher up the public health agenda and increase the number of visits to optical practices.

The Trust, which was set up to be an independent source of information on all eye-related issues, said this week that its plan encompassed six key thematic priorities - communication, the profession, administration and organisation, involvement, research and funding.

Goals set out in the three-year strategy document include positioning the eye examination as a primary health check and increasing the percentage of the population visiting their optometrist for regular eye exams by 10 per cent over the next three years.
