uk vision strategyEye care commissioning guidance has been launched at the Commissioning Live conference in Manchester this week.

Launched by UK Vision Strategy , the guidance was accompanied by support tools to assist commissioners to deliver eye care services. It follows a two-year project with Clinical Commissioning Groups in Gateshead, Bedfordshire and South Devon and Torbay.

Kate Kinsey, head of primary care operations, Greater Manchester, and member of the Commissioning for Effectiveness and Efficiency (CEE) project Board, said: ‘I look forward to working with the LEHN Chairs around the country to work with commissioners across health and social care, to facilitate the successful CEE approach at a local level. Furthermore, I believe that the patient-centred approach of the CEE project guidance helps inform the best possible outcomes for the community and this can be applied to wider health commissioning areas.’
