Staff at its Leighton Buzzard UK head office started with a 10km run, with prizes for the fastest male and female. There were also two 1km races, in which 130 runners battled it out. The 1km run was won by Patrick Hill, 17-year-old son of UltraVisionÕs managing director, Stephen Hill. Further fun came with the raffle of a mountain bike.
Despite the poor weather the company said the races were a great success, thanks to the excellent marshalling of the local Air Training Cadets.
The day raised more than £1,000 for Sight Concern, a voluntary organisation for blind and partially-sighted people.
To further boost the charity cheque, UltraVision will be donating 20 per cent of the value of all contact lens sales from Bedfordshire practices from July to the end of the year.
