Vision charity Fight for Sight marked World Diabetes Day last week (November 14) by announcing new funding for research at the University of Manchester.
Researchers were to explore the possible role of the molecule apelin in diabetic eye disease, potentially leading to development of a drug treatment.
The Fight for Sight New Lecturers’ Small Grant Awards Scheme provided up to £20,000 for UK universities.
