
Three quarters of US eye care providers reported inflation has a direct impact on operations, causing increased consumer costs, according to The Vision Council's 2024 Provider inSights report.
Consequently, there's been a 20% reduction in practices achieving above-average revenue performance, compared to 2023.
Alysse Henkel, vice president of Research and inSights at The Vision Council, highlighted that economic performance; inflation and available jobs remain top of mind for a majority of eye care providers.’
'Our report shows that most eye care providers have felt the impacts of inflation during the first six months of this year, and they do not anticipate substantial improvements across other areas of business performance by the end of the year, such as hiring new staff, or increased practice revenue,' she said.
