Nigel Wilson has been hired as Vision Aid Overseas' new international programme director and will join VAO's head office team in Crawley.
He replaces Imran Khan, who left the position after nine months late last year to join Sightsavers.
Wilson was previously the interim CEO of the charity War Child and has spent the past six months working with Save the Children as its director of planning.
He said: 'I am delighted to have the opportunity to bring my experience from across the development sector to join an eye care organisation that has capacity building and patient care at the centre of its operations.'
