
An exhibition featuring seven centuries of eyewear evolution, art and design, organised by the Italian Optical Manufacturers’ Association (ANFAO) and curated by Fondazione Museo dell’Occhiale, has been set from May 7-July 30 at the Palazzo Flangini, Venice.
‘The Lens of Time – The History of Eyewear in Italy’ exhibition is showcasing over 150 original pieces, immersive experiences, contemporary works of art, medieval frescoes, eighteenth-century Venetian glasses, cinema icons and futuristic wearable technologies.
Art historian Jacopo Veneziani guided visitors through a ‘vision of the art’ at an inauguration on May 7, hosted by actress and presenter Martina Colombari, which was said to provide an opportunity to explore the symbolic, cultural and creative value of eyewear in society.
