Vision Aid Overseas sets goals for 30th anniversaryInternational development charity Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) has aimed to raise £150,000 and help an additional 30,000 people in 2015 as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

Established in 1985 by a group of optometrists and dispensing opticians who were shocked at the plight of individuals in developing countries who were disabled or disadvantaged because of uncorrected refractive error, VAO has gone on to help 1m patients in 26 countries.

Throughout 2015, VAO and its volunteers will be taking part in a number of different fundraising activities and events including the London Marathon in April, the British 10K London Run in July and the Great Ethiopian Run in November
