VAO celebrates 30th anniversary year

Vision Aid Overseas this week celebrated the launch of its 30th anniversary year activities.

The charity was aiming to raise £150,000 of additional donations this year, and help an additional 30,000 people in developing countries gain access to eye care services.

A number of fundraising activities and events have been lined up for the year including the London Marathon in April and the Great Ethiopian Run in November.

Around 90 guests were invited to the event hosted at The Swan at The Shakespeare’s Globe in London.

VAO executive director Nigel Wilson said: ‘We would like to thank all our supporters past and present for the significant difference they have made to these communities – without them none of our work would have been possible.’
