A practice at the new Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, London has helped Vision Express report increased profits for 2011 despite challenging times for the UK and Irish retail sectors.
The company posted a £3.5m increase in pre-tax profit for 2011, with 'strong sales volume and value growth' seen at owned and joint venture partner stores.
Chief executive officer Jonathan Lawson said: 'The results for 2011 are very pleasing and reflect our improved value and our strategy of delivering the best possible service and quality standards in optical care.' Vision Express, part of GrandVision BV, finished the financial year with 328 practices in operation.
