Vision Express has relocated its Nottingham store support centre HQ to Ruddington – citing significant store expansion for the move.
It will move to Ruddington Fields Business Park in Nottingham as of this month.
Around 280 employees will be based at the site, moving from the existing HQ on Abbeyfield Road to six miles south of Nottingham city centre.
Vision Express CEO Jonathan Lawson said: ‘Vision Express has based its support operations in Nottingham for 26 years and we’re pleased to be part of the regional business economy.
‘This relocation is a significant step for the company, following a sustained period of growth. The modern, open plan environment is fit for purpose and will enable us to provide a better service to our store network and our customers.’
The new Ruddington office has a learning zone and in-house retail unit for training and developing its Vision Express team, a subsidised employee-only café and gym facilities.
Lawson added: ‘We’re delighted to provide a contemporary store support centre that has been specifically designed to nurture the positive, diligent and innovative culture we’re so proud of. It demonstrates our commitment to the region, to our hard-working team and sets Vision Express in good stead for our long term ambitions.’
The centre also has open plan offices, a statement said, with ‘modern meeting spaces themed with motivational messages’ and conference facilities. Vision Express joins businesses including NHS and Experian on the 35-acre site.
Vision Express joint venture & property director Mike Flint said: ‘The property and IT teams have worked hard within tight timescales to ensure everything is in place for a seamless transition to the new building, and my thanks go to them for their tireless efforts.
‘It was important to get the balance right between creating great space, but not being too extravagant in what are still tough trading conditions.’
