A four liveries lecture was hosted by the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers (WCSM) to explore laser technology last month

The annual lecture was delivered by Loughborough University professor John Tyrer to members of the Scientific Instrument Makers, Lightmongers, Clockmakers and Spectacle Makers.

Professor Tyrer’s presentation ‘Making light work for your livery’ examined developments in laser technology in the fields of each livery, including surgical eye procedures, LED lights, laser-manufacturing clocks and laser instruments being used in counter-terrorism operations.
